Blogging is a great tool.

I love blogging, I also love blog browsing and I have a very long list of blogs I follow.
People use blogs to show what they are working on, new techniques they are experimenting with, sneak peeks of what's to come.
For anyone still unsure if blogging is for them here are some good reasons:

}SWAPPING GETS YOUR WORK NOTICED BY NEW PEOPLE{
I recently took part in a Heart swap over at Noodlebubble blog:
I was very excited when the postman brought a jiffy bag containing this gorgeous bag:
...and inside was this lovely heart.
The photo doesn't do it justice..it's beautiful. The most gorgeous colour.
Thank you Averilpam.
Check out more of her great work here:
and her blog:

}YOU FIND SOME WONDERFUL ITEMS{
I am a big fan of local crafters and one great crafter in Northamptonshire is
Charlotte Hupfield
Her work is amazing, such gorgeous textures. I would love to own a piece but am waiting until my children grow up and that piece will stay whole.
She recently wrote a blog post about a piece that went wrong.
I fell in love with this broken heart. A thought struck me...it's broken already so no damage can be done to it.
It appealed to my quirky sense of humour. I love having bowls on my desks and shelves to hold little objects which my son finds for me.
I contacted Charlotte enquiring about the heart dish.
She did NOT want to sell it to me as it was on the rubbish pile. In the end I paid the postage and it now sits on my desk.
Charlotte creates great works of art and the broken piece doesn't showcase her talent to it's fullest potential but to me it's a unique quirky little dish...pre-broken.
I love it and it's waiting for the day a pefect Charlotte Hupfield piece will join it.

}YOU CAN OWN SOMETHING NEW BEFORE ANYONE ELSE{
I LOVE buttons and Folksy has alot. So many different shapes, sizes, colours.
Whilst browsing the forums at Folksy I came across a seller who make their own beads and buttons in the amazing rainbow of colours.
after reading their profile I checked out their blog and this was the newest post:
I have some 70s fabric that matches those buttons perfectly.
I messaged them asking if they were for sale.
The people who run the shop are so friendly and helpful and now these buttons are all mine.

}SOME TIPS{
Firstly don't be frightened of starting a blog.
Use it as a way of chatting to people.
When you log into your Dashboard it shows the blogs you follow and any new updates from them. It's a great way of catching up...or if i'm honest (and nosey) not wanting to miss anything.
To learn what makes a good blog, look at the ones you like and note down why you like them. What do they have in common.
Use these points in your blog.
One point I feel is important is to break up chunks of text with pictures.
Also leave a comment, say hello, it can feel like you are blogging to yourself sometimes.

Thank you for reading...add you blog links when you comment.

Great post! Glad you are happy with the dish, good to hear it has gone to good use rather than the bin!
